The DUT AppFactory Bi-weekly technology presentations
The Bi-weekly technology presentations are typical demonstrations and introductions to technological aspects which are meant to grant knowledge, persuade and build goodwill or simply to present a new idea or a product.
These presentations were streamed live on Facebook the presentation encourages the DUT AppFactory Interns to prepare and participate on keeping their colleagues up-to-date when it comes to the latest tech news from around the world.
This past week, the DUT AppFactory hosted live Bi-weekly Presentation exercise on 16 September 2022 at 14h00 - 15h00 on The DUT AppFactory Facebook Page.
The Bi-weekly presentation topics were.NET Maui, Data breach and Data recovery these three topics derived from three different Interns.
Nikhil Ramdav: Focused on .NET Maui He elaborated how does. NET Maui works and took the the team with the DEMO on how to setup .NET Maui Application.
Sivuyile Dlulani: Took the team further with causes Data breach and different types of data breach and elaborated more on how we can prevent data breaches.
Nombuso Msweli: Elaborated more on Data recovery and the steps on how to create data recovery plan testing and updating data recovery plan.
The presentations provided attendees with the following essential skills and Knowledge:
.NET Maui:
- Writing cross-platform apps in XAML and C#, from a single shared code-base in Visual Studio. ?
- Sharing UI layout and design across platforms.
- Share code, tests, and business logic across platforms. ?
- Code Mobile applications to perfection seamlessly. ?
Data Breach:
- Ways which we can protect the Business Website.
- Strategic planning skills
- Management skills
Data recovery:
- Data Science Skills
- Ways to avoid using all affected devices
- ways to decide which data recovery method to use
The presentation session was well attended by the DUT AppFactory mentors, Interns as well as other participants who joined live on Facebook. The attendees found the presentation very informative and wished that there could be other presentations to gain more knowledge
