The Software Factory

In order to address the problem of under preparedness, unemployment and the lack of entrepreneurial preparedness at the university. The DUT has embarked on a process of forming the DUT AppFactory.

The strategic objectives of AppFactory are as follows:

To offer information technology consultancy to the university and the public and private sectors.
To provide internship opportunities to learners so that they can gain industry knowledge before entering the job market.
To provide research collaboration opportunities for both staff and students with industry partners and clients associated with the unit.
To provide training to staff, learners and industry on software development tools and techniques.
To offer information technology project management assistance and consultancy.
