The DUT AppFactory Bi-weekly technology presentations
The Bi-weekly technology presentations are typical demonstrations and introductions to technological aspects which are meant to grant knowledge, persuade and build goodwill or simply to present a new idea or a product.
These presentations were streamed live on Facebook the presentation encourages the DUT AppFactory Interns to prepare and participate on keeping their colleagues up-to-date when it comes to the latest tech news from around the world.
This past week, the DUT AppFactory hosted live Bi-weekly Presentation exercise on 09 September 2022 at 14h00 - 15h00 on The DUT AppFactory Facebook Page.
The Bi-weekly presentation topics were 5G wireless technology, Biometrics and Introduction to data structures, these three topics derived from three different Interns.
Mkhize Zodwa: Focused on 5G wireless technology and explained more about the evolution of the Generations of wireless technology from 1G, 2G,3G, 4G and went deep on the latest wireless technology which is 5G.
Ngidi Nompilo Jessica: Elaborated more on the Biometrics and how does the biometrics works as well as the types of common biometrics.
Nhlanhla Vilakazi: Took the team further with the Introduction to data structures elaborated more on the type of data structures.
The presentations provided attendees with the following essential skills and Knowledge:
5G wireless technology:
- Historical knowledge on how did the Generations of wireless technology evolved from 1G to 5G
- AI Visualization
- Different Speed of the wireless technology from Kbps, mbps to Gbps
Biometrics:
- Analytical skill
- Communication skill
- Creativity
- Problem-solving skills
Introduction to data structures:
- Checking problem skills
- Problem solving skills
- Coding skills
The presentation session was well attended by the DUT AppFactory mentors, Interns as well as other participants who joined live on Facebook. The attendees found the presentation very informative and wished that there could be other presentations to gain more knowledge
