DUT AppFactory Bi-weekly Presentations

The Bi-weekly presentations are typical demonstrations and introductions to technological aspects which are meant to grant knowledge, persuade and build goodwill or simply to present a new idea or a product.

These presentations take place using Microsoft Teams which encourages the DUT Appfactory Interns to prepare and participate on keeping their colleagues up-to-date when it comes to the latest tech news from around the world.

This past week, the DUT Appfactory hosted its 2nd Bi-weekly Presentation exercise on 29th April 2022 at 09h00 - 10h00

The Bi-weekly presentation topics were Vue.Js Framework, Debugging 101 and User Iinterface design

These three topics derived from three different Interns.

Ntobeko Dindi presented and explained how User Interface Design is one of the major aspects to focus on when developing a multi-layered system.

Zodwa Mkhize demonstrated the concepts of Vue.JS

Jessica Nompilo Ngidi took the team through the basics of Debugging and how we too can save time and effort defeating bugs on the daily.

The Interns were basically having unique views based on their chosen topics The DUT Appfactory Interns presented the presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint. The presentation provided attendees with the following essential skills:

Vue.js Framework

  • HTML & CSS. HTML and CSS are the foundations of the web
  • JavaScript basics and Modern JavaScript Git
  • Vue CLI skills

Debugging 101

  • Finding bugs and developing debugging skills
  • Analysing and understanding why bugs occur
  • Fixing or removing bugs
  • Learning basic coding principles and applying clean code.

User Interface design

  • Industry knowledge skills
  • Attention to detail skills
  • Planning skills.

The presentation session was well attended By the DUT Appfactory mentors and Interns. The attendees found the presentation very informative and wished that there could be other presentations to gain more knowledge.
